Privacy Policy
Last updated October 19, 2026
The short version
- If you join The First Pour, we collect your email address and use it only to send you Drum & Burr emails.
- We don't sell your information, and we don't use advertising cookies or ad trackers.
- Our website analytics count visits without cookies.
- You can unsubscribe from any email in one click, or ask us to delete your information at [email protected].
Who we are
Drum & Burr Coffee Co. is an independent coffee brand based in Raleigh, North Carolina. In this policy, “Drum & Burr,” “we” and “us” mean Drum & Burr Coffee Co. You can reach us about anything in this policy at [email protected].
This policy covers our website, drumandburr.com, and The First Pour, our early-access email list. Our store is not open yet. We don't take orders, payments or customer accounts on this site, so we don't collect that kind of information. We'll update this policy before that changes.
What we collect
When you join The First Pour
- Your email address. It's the only thing our signup form asks for.
- A record of your signup and confirmation. Our email provider, MailerLite, records when you signed up and confirmed, which form you used, and the IP address used at each step. This is how we can show that you asked to hear from us.
When you receive our emails
- Email activity. MailerLite tells us whether an email was delivered, whether it was opened, and which links were clicked. It does this with a small image in each email and with tracked links. Blocking images in your email app stops open tracking.
When you write to us
- Your message and email address, so we can reply.
When you visit the website
- Visit statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see totals such as visits, pages viewed, the websites that referred visitors, general location by country, browser and device type, and page-loading speed. Cloudflare states that Web Analytics doesn't use cookies or local storage and doesn't fingerprint visitors. We see these figures only as totals, not as information about individual people.
- Hosting and security. Cloudflare hosts our website. Like any web host, it processes your IP address and basic details of each request in order to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
- The signup form. The form is loaded from MailerLite's servers, so MailerLite receives your IP address and browser details when the page loads. MailerLite's form script also saves a random identifier called
ml_guidin your browser's local storage, which MailerLite uses to run the form. It doesn't contain your name or email address, and you can remove it by clearing this site's data in your browser.
We don't use advertising cookies, social media pixels or cross-site tracking.
How we use it
- To send the email that confirms your signup. We don't send First Pour emails until you've confirmed.
- To send The First Pour: news of our opening before we announce it publicly, a first look at our coffees, brewing ideas, and the story of building Drum & Burr.
- To keep a record of your consent and honor unsubscribe requests.
- To reply when you write to us.
- To understand, in total, how people find our website and which emails are useful.
- To keep the website and our email list secure.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that run our website and email for us:
- MailerLite, our email platform. It stores our subscriber list and sends our emails. MailerLite states that its data storage center is in the European Union. See MailerLite's privacy policy.
- Cloudflare, which hosts and protects our website and provides our visit statistics. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Porkbun, our domain provider, which forwards email sent to our drumandburr.com address to the inbox we read.
We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
We may disclose information if the law requires it. If Drum & Burr is later transferred to a company formed to run it, or to a new owner, the subscriber list may move with it. The protections in this policy would still apply, and we would tell subscribers.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe at any time with the link at the bottom of every email.
- Ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by writing to [email protected]. We'll reply within 30 days.
- Didn't confirm? If you never confirmed your signup, you won't receive First Pour emails. You can still ask us to delete the unconfirmed record.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address while you're subscribed. If you unsubscribe, MailerLite keeps your address on an unsubscribed record so we don't email you again by mistake. If you'd rather we delete it completely, just ask. We keep emails you send us for as long as we need them to help you. Website visit statistics are kept by Cloudflare in totals.
Security
We use reputable providers and limit access to our accounts. No website or email service can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Children
This website and The First Pour are not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us their email address, contact us and we'll delete it.
Visitors outside the United States
We're based in the United States, MailerLite stores data in the European Union, and Cloudflare operates worldwide, so your information may be handled in more than one country. If you're in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we send First Pour emails on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing. You may also ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information, ask us to restrict or stop using it, and complain to your local data protection authority.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We don't track visitors across other websites and we don't sell or share personal information for advertising, so these browser signals have nothing extra to switch off here.
Other websites
Our website links to our pages on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest and YouTube. Those services have their own privacy policies, which apply when you visit them.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy when our website or services change, including before our store opens. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change significantly affects how we use your email address, we'll let subscribers know by email.
